Spreading education always occupies a significant place among the various services of Ramakrishna Mission. In 1928 Swami Ishtananda, a monk of Ramakrishna Mission, established this school in very humble way to impart primary education to the local poor people. Such an endeavor had not been made in this Island prior to that. This institution has been spreading the light of education in this island since then. The school is now recognized by WBBSE. It got this recognition on 1952. It is a Bengali medium Govt aided boys’ school having classes V to X. It has a hostel facility for limited number of students. The institution has been accorded recognition from WBCHSE to introduce Higher Secondary courses(Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology, Computer Science, Geography) from Session 2024-2025.
